Navigating the treacherous terrain of Hope County requires eliminating major cult assets that disrupt local wildlife and aid the Project at Eden's Gate. In the Whitetail Mountains region, players encounter the side quest Call of the Wild, which tasks them with dismantling Jacob Seed's lure network. Completing this mission weakens the cult's hold on the region while earning valuable resistance points and cash rewards.
How to Unlock the Call of the Wild Mission
To initiate the quest, you must first complete the story mission Radio Silence provided by Tammy Barnes at the Wolf's Den. After completing this initial task and destroying your first Wolf Beacon in the Whitetail Mountains, Tammy will contact you directly. She will officially assign the Call of the Wild side mission to eliminate the remaining noise-making structures across the territory.
Locating and Tracking the Wolf Beacons
The mission is split into two distinct tracking phases, requiring a thorough search of the mountainous wilderness. Tammy provides map markers for the first four Wolf Beacons to help kickstart your hunting effort. However, for the remaining six beacons, players must explore elevated ridges, radar stations, and lakeshores independently without navigational waypoints.
Best Strategies for Destroying Beacons Efficiently
Using aerial vehicles is by far the most effective tactic for locating and destroying these tall loudspeaker structures. Securing an armed helicopter allows you to spot the bright red lights on top of the towers from high above. A single well-placed missile volley or concentrated machine gun fire quickly destroys the structure base while keeping you safe from ground patrols.
Rewards and Quest Completion Benefits
Destroying all ten Wolf Beacons yields significant benefits toward liberating the Whitetail Mountains. Upon completion, players receive 200 Resistance Points along with a $1,600 cash payout from Tammy Barnes. Clearing these structures also counts directly toward completing regional side quest achievements in Far Cry 5.
